I saw this advertisement in the Daily Dawn. The advertisement was published on 16 September 2026. It is about cheaper petrol price. It is not clear from the advertisement if one will also get relief on diesel price.
The government is offering a relief of Rs. 100 on the price of petrol. So, if the petrol price today is Rs. 389 per litre, then you can buy a litre of petrol for Rs. 289 under this scheme.
The war in the Middle East is continuously driving the fuel prices up.
The eligible vehicles are:
- Motorcycle
- Qinqi
- Rickshaw
- Three-wheeler vehicles
- Cars with engine capacity upto 800cc
So, the trucks and inter-city buses are not eligible.
Registration Process
It is a one-time registration. An SMS need to be sent to number 9771. The content of the SMS needs to be these four things separated by spaces in the order shown.
- REG (three English alphabets)
- CNIC Number
- Vehicle number plate without any space character
- First character of province name where the vehicle is registered
- Registration date of vehicle in the format DDMMYYYY
So, if you are living in Punjab, you’ll be sending this SMS:
REG 4569859090783 LHR123 P 30082018
Next Step
After you register, you need to write “TOK” (without double quotation marks) in SMS and send to 9771. You will receive an SMS with these pieces of information:
- Token number
- Vehicle registration number
- Quantity of petrol
- Validity of token number
